Dan O’Brien is the 1996 Olympic Gold Medalist in the Decathlon and one of the most sought after speakers in the world of Track & Field. A former world record holder (1992), he has also won world championship gold medals in 1991, .93 and .95.
Ron Mann has coached 94 individual All-Americans and has had at least one of his athletes compete in every Summer Olympiad since the 1984 Games in Los Angeles. Mann produced the 1986 NCAA Cross Country Champion, Angela Chalmers; 2003 NCAA Indoor Mile Champion Johanna Nilsson, and 2004 NCAA Steeplechase Champion Ida Nilsson. Under Mann.s guidance at least one of his cross country teams has finished Top-10 in the nation 12 times in the last 17 years.
Ed Jacoby served as Assistant Coach for the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona and as Head Coach at Boise State for 24 years. During that tenure, Jacoby was named Big Sky Conference Coach of the Year 11 times and NCAA District Coach of the Year 3 times. He has also authored three books, one of which (.The Complete Book of Jumps.) was called by Track and Field News the best book ever written on the jumping events.
Tom Tellez is widely regarded as one of the greatest coaches in University of Houston.s history. He is a member of the U.S. Track Coaches Association Hall of Fame. Tellez has produced some of the greatest Track & Field performers in the history of the sport. His former athletes include: nine time Olympic Gold Medalist Carl Lewis, Olympic 200m Gold Medalist Joe DeLoach, and Olympic Gold Medalist and Former 100m record holder Leroy Burrell.
Mark Rodriguez is starting his first year at the University of Louisville after nine years as the Throws Coach at Indiana State University. At ISU, Rodriguez had throwers enter or improve on the All Time Top 10 List 517 times. He has coached 61 National Qualifiers, 29 U.S. Championships qualifiers, 17 NCAA All-Americans, 5 Olympic Trials qualifiers and one NCAA Champion.
